General FAQs:

Where can I use Curb-It?

Curb-It concrete curbing is a functional, affordable way to edge your landscape beds, flower gardens, driveways, trees, ponds, and more. It’s both decorative and practical, and will transform your yard’s curb appeal to a new level.

Are your Curb-It stones pre-made?

Curb-It is not individual stones and are not pre-made, but mixed and poured continuously on-site.

Can I purchase Curb-It sections and install them on my own?

No, our Curb-It is not made in sections and are therefore unavailable for purchase. It is continuous concrete edging that is poured on-site and customized to your landscape.  Since we use specialized equipment to prepare the site, mix the concrete, and pour the edging, it’s better off to avoid the DIY route and leave this home improvement project to the pros.

Do you provide a warranty?

Your curbing has a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. It will be replaced at no charge if the materials we use or the way it was installed by our workmen causes the defect.

If your curbing is damaged, we will come back and make necessary repairs; however, there is a $400 minimum charge for this service.

Damage to sprinkler lines, telephone wire, cable TV, or other buried items by our equipment or personnel is not the responsibility of Curb-It Inc. However, if these items are properly marked we will do everything we can to avoid and protect these lines.

Can you give us ideas and suggestions on placement and style?

Yes! Our team has many years of experience in designing and installing concrete edging. We have an eye for what looks good (and what doesn’t). We can give you some ideas for what we think will look and function the best, leaving you with a finished edge that looks great and saves you from more work! Installation FAQs:

How long will it take to install?

Depending on the Curb-It design, lineal feet, and complexity, most projects are completed in one day. After the installation, keep animals, children, and objects away from the curb for 48 hours, as it will need some time to harden completely. You can begin to mow and work around the area after 48 hours. The Curb-It should be fully cured after 18 days.

How much will it cost to install?

The cost for installing Curb-It varies. It typically is based on the number of lineal feet per job site. Factors such as geographical location, coloring and stamping, sprinkler head run-ins, or surface roots may affect the price. That’s why we provide free estimates for your project so that you have an idea of the approximate cost to install prior to committing to anything.

Will you drive on or tear up my lawn when installing it?

If you have existing grass, it will not be affected by our process. We use small machinery (wheelbarrows and the cubing machine, which is about the size of a vacuum cleaner) made explicitly for the sod cutting and concrete edging process, so you won’t need to worry about large machinery or tire tracks in your yard. Check out our video here to see how the installation process works!

Will you remove old edging upon installation?

Yes, we can remove old edging as needed. When you request a free estimate, be sure to select the dropdown that says, “New curbing to replace existing landscape edging.” However, we do not do any dirt work/leveling during the installation process. If your current edging is buried or trenched, you will have to remove it prior to our arrival and fill/pack that area with dirt.

Will trees with surface roots be a problem?

Potentially. Most trees have some sort of surface root. We will look at potential problem areas on an individual basis.

Do I have to be there during installation?

On the day of installation, we need you on-site for about 15 minutes. With you, we will mark everything out with marking paint so you have one final visual of the Curbit’s final location. After that, you are more than welcome to stay or are free to leave!

How is the color added?

We mix the concrete edging on-site and add the custom colors when mixing it. After we’ve placed the concrete, we will trowel it, add your stamping pattern, and then seal it. Watch our video here to see how it works!

Care & Use FAQs:

Will the Curb-It coloring fade over time?

Our colors are pigments that are mixed into the concrete during the installation process. We also apply a sealer to retain the color. The sealer may wear off after a year or two, and we recommend resealing it every other year.

How should I take care of my edging to prevent it from cracking?

Just like your sidewalk or driveway, you are going to see a relief cut every 18″ in your Curb-it.  It is not cut all the way through, but instead more like a groove. This allows for the freeze/thaw ground movement we have. Hairline cracks in those areas are normal. Make sure you make tree rings large enough to not have root growth/ground movement cracking. Lastly, areas where there is poorly packed foundation or dirt/large slopes could have trouble, but our experts will advise you of those during the estimate process.

Can I mow over my Curb-It edging?

Yes, you can put your mower deck over your edging after the initial week post-installation. We do the exact ground preparation to ensure the finished curb height matches the lawn. You should be able to mow most areas without having to trim.
